Summary This study describes rational calculation technique to determine soap film isotonic surface (= minimum shape) having arbitrary boundary shape. Axial-force line element whose element force is proportionate to its own length can find a complete balanced shape without iterations. Therefore, the shape can be primary shape for isotonic surface analysis, and we can obtain minimum surface even when it has so much complex boundary shape in the space.
