Title The Analysis of Wrinkling in Rectangular Tensioned Membrane Structures
Author Pinqi Lu,Yasuhiko Hangai,Ken'ichi Kawaguchi
Summary Tensioned membrane structures have so small flexural stiffness that they can not transmit compression stress. The wrinkling of membrane becomes a common problem. There have been two types of theory mainly used for the analysis of wrinkling problem of membrane. The first one is the tension field theory. The second one is the bifurcation buckling theory. In this paperEa new analysis theory will been introduced which integrate the above two theoriesEthe tension field theory and the bifurcation buckling theory. The basic assumptions and research objectives will be described.
