Summary Hybrid structures which consist of cable members and rigid structures are treated in the paper. The hybrid structures have the theoretical research subject日(1) Classification of hybrid structures into stable and unstable ones,( 2) Stabilization process o f unstable hybrid structures,( 3) Possibility of the existence of self-equilibrated stress system, (4) Instroduction of self-equilibrated stress system,and (5) Stress and displacement analysis. The paper proposes an analytical method of stress and displacement.In the first part,the load-displacement relation of cable members and the compatibility relation of rigid structures are introducted. In the second part,the load-displacement relation of cable members is analyzed under the constraint of the compatibility relation of rigid structures by using Bott-Duffin inverse. In the last part an numerical example is shown in order. to examine the validity of the proposed method.
