Summary At present, when we analyze a membrane structure, we usually use the Finite Element Method. But in this method, it is very complicated and hard to generalize. This paper proposes a new method of substituting a cable net for a membrane material, assuming that the membrane structure is composed of the cable net. By means of this, a method of analyzing a complicated membrane structure in a practical precision is shown in this study.
