Title Simulation of stress deformation of membrane materials having cracks using a woven structure model
Author Kiyosi Komatsu,Kazuo Ishii
Summary It is well known that the dynamic properties of membrane materials used for membrane structures are of strong geometrical non-linearity and strong material non-linearity,and studies have been been made in various forms since the olden days in order to elucidate the factors for occurrence of such complicated non-linearity. The authors have been conducting testing of membrane materials from microscopic, macroscopic, static and dynamic viewpoints in order to elucidate this important subject. The authors constructed a new structure model of membrane materials having properties close to the dynamic properties of actual membrane materials as a result. This paper describes comparative examination of the resuits obtained by conducting stress deformation analysis of membrane materials having cracks using this structure model with the results of conducted with actual membrane materials.
